One thing you missed last week
Golf’s continued rise in popularity hit new heights last week as Bryson DeChambeau hosted Donald Trump in his exciting and unique ‘Break 50’ YouTube series. Regardless of your political stance, the banter, seriously difficult golf challenge, and high level of play made for great TV.

One thing to think about this week
What lessons have you learned on the golf course that you’ve been able to apply to your life?
What’s worse than skulling an iron or chunking a chip? Not much besides doing it immediately again on your next shot. One of golf’s greatest lessons in my life has been the importance of having a short memory. Bad shots happen and so do bad days. However it’s our ability to rebound and adjust our attitude before our next shot that define not only our overall success and happiness in life, but also the way we view and carry ourselves.
As a young golfer with unrealistic scoring expectations, my Dad quickly instilled in me a healthy fear of what would happen if I continued to let my emotions get the best of me. “You want to throw your club and get mad? We just won’t come out here anymore.” Simple.
Too often I view life as if it has some ultimate destination, a place in space and time where everything finally makes sense and all my ducks line up in linear perfection. Remembering that although our lives do have bookends, in reality all we really have is a journey. Every day a new opportunity with a new chance to be our best. Not THE best, our own best.
Whether yesterday was a 99 or a 68, it was yesterday. Today is a brand new chance to show up, swing strong, and live to the best of our abilities.
